| South Youth Panel | |
| Are you mad about hockey? Are you aged between 14 and 25? If you answered 'yes' then you should think about joining the South Youth Panel. The South Youth Panel is a group of committed 14-25 year olds, who represent the youth of hockey in the South of England, aiding development across the region. Were looking for enthusiastic young people keen on hockey including umpires, leaders, coaches, players, officials or supporters who would like to make a difference to hockey as they know it. We have 4/5 meetings a year as well as helping to organise and run the South Schools and Clubs Mini-hockey Championships. As well as being on the panel looking really impressive on your CV and University applications you also get the opportunity to achieve personal and group goals and implement initiatives throughout the South. As an applicant we would ask that you will be able to commit to: 18th Feb (Meetings Surbiton HC) 24th & 25th April (Schools Championships - Surbiton HC) 1st & 2nd May (Clubs Championships - Surbiton HC) If you would like to share your hockey experiences with other hockey like minded individuals, please email south@englandhockey.org for an application form. The closing date for entries is Monday 1st Feb 2010 | |
| South RYUAG - Availability and New Panel Structure | |
| All, I have taken over from Tex Lane as the Chair of the South RYUAG and I wanted to write to you all about two important things that effect you as part of the South RYUAG. 1. Availability Firstly, umpiring is an important part of the single system and regionally we have to make sure that young umpires are included in the system appropriately. I know that some of you have already umpired within the single system at the JRPC Tier 1 event in Sept and there are more JAC events coming up that I hope as many of you as possible will make yourself available to your counties so that you can practice your umpiring skills as well as the South RYUAG events that have been posted on the web for you to make yourself available for. To make this successful for you all, from now onwards I would like you all to start using the SCHUA web site to add your availability as well as to look out for the up and coming events. The web site should start to become part of your daily routine as this is where we appoint you to games, pay your expenses, keep your personal information up to date and do everything RYUAG related. We do not want to keep reminding you to look there, this has to be your on going responsibility especially as this is what happens at all levels of umpiring. 2. SRYUAG Panels The RYUAG Committee (that includes your county rep) have put all young umpires into Panels. The South RYUAG Panels are called Performance, Development and Academy panels and they will be used to progress you through your umpiring career in the South. Movement through the panels will be based on your continued performance/improvement both in the county and the regional programmes. We have shown the 2 levels above the Performance Panel to show those of you with true umpiring ambitions what the pathway for umpiring can be. The SRYUAG Panels are posted in the young umpires section of the SCHUA web site. If you have any questions/queries about the above, don't hesitate to get in touch Regards Dawn Bonner Chair SRYUAG | |
