	New Outdoor and Indoor Rules 2010/11
		EH sent the following statement to all HUA's The Board of England Hockey have approved introduction of the new 2011-12 Rules of Hockey (Outdoor and Indoor) at the start of the coming hockey season (1 September 2010). 	Changes in Committee
		As previously announced Richard Wood is now President, Kevin Burge has replaced Richard as Vice President and Lia Waine has become the L2 co-ordinator more, see below

	SCHUA President
		It is with great pride that I take over the mantle of SCHUA President from James and I look forward to serving you all. 	James O'Hara
		At the AGM on 8th June James retired as President of SCHUA after five years in the post and he was presented with a wine decanter and some wine. He was also elected as a Life Vice President and was given a plaque to mark the occasion. more, see below

South Young Umpiring Appointment Policy

England Hockey have specific recommendations regarding young umpires officiating senior hockey matches, as follows ...

"It cannot be emphasised enough that England Hockey recommends that U18 umpires,
other than those approved by the NYUAG and RYUAGs, do not umpire adult matches
unless supervised by appropriately qualified and checked coaches/mentors.
Welfare precautions should ensure the deployment of young umpires to games
appropriate to their stage of development."

Southern Counties Hockey Umpires' Association, and specifically the South RYUAG, support this policy fully.
Any appointments of young umpires to senior or junior matches will only be made
after careful consideration of the abilities, welfare and development needs of any young umpires concerned.
